Painting from direct observation, participants will gain more experience creating the illusion of space and light in their paintings using a full color palette.
We will explore the mastery of our materials through the subject of still life painting. The purpose of this class will be twofold. Firstly, to be able to see and understand color and color mixing better. Secondly, to gain more faculty in using the brush and palette knife, learning about edges, focal paint, value/color, and composition. Classes will include demonstrations and critiques and are appropriate for all skill levels. The instructor will respond to the needs of each student and address their level of development.
