This workshop focuses on the basic principles essential to creating a still life painting. Students begin the workshop with a series of value, color and composition studies during the first two days. Concepts dealing with form, light, temperature, values and paint handling are introduced at this stage. The concept of "color Study" is explored as it applies to still life painting. The instructor demos and discusses each concept, followed by exercises where students put these concepts into practice. During the last three days, students have the option of creating one painting combining the skills they learned in the first two days or continuing with a series of one day studies where they can further develop their skills.
